'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the nail-biting dying seconds of his team's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game culminated with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear after the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range shot from outside the box, and his teammate immediately converted the loose ball before sprinting toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with supporters swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

This completed an unbelievable comeback given the team had trailed 2-0 deep into the second half. In the celebrations, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result secured a fourth-round game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the bar and the Stefan Ortega. It feels criminal that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've credited him for having a go from that distance," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right flank after they changed formation. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the winger was among the City players who complimented the way his former team attacked the game.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the basics and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," he explains. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they are adept at dictate and neutralize a game. You can believe you're all right and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It takes a strong mentality and attention just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at Orient and has quickly achieved similar status in his new home. At Orient he joined forces once more with his former manager, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a spell at fourth-tier Salford City, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think a lot of players would say under-23s football is completely distinct. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without serious challenge. There's not many hard challenges. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

He has shown that growth for his team and nation, performing well for his national side, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including both legs games against a football powerhouse. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Starting Out

This marks an incredible journey for the player from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his dad, his father, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

His single match for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they played on an plastic turf and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to temperatures of -15C. "It was a long trip and it was chilly," he recalls, smiling. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Moving On

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "It was quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it became apparent where I believed I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

Life in Swansea

It is mid-afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at 5pm: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called player transport, a minibus driven by academy staff, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself a teammate, Ronald, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to interact with the lads but I'm hoping to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and driving. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on London's Central line after beginning his trip at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
